14 May 1975: A C-130 of the 374 TAW dropped a BLU-82 weapon on Hoh Tang Island to clear a helicopter landing pad in support of the operation to free the SS Mayaguez and crew.
Mid May 1975: The 50 TAS redeployed to the 314 TAW, Little Rock AFB, Arkansas.
30 May 1975: The 374 TAW maintenance assumed responsibility for the C-9A aircraft of the 20 AAS.31 May 1975: The 18th Tactical Fighter Wing ended its F-4 deployment to CCK AB, Taiwan . They were there to assist Taiwan’s defense against aerial threats from China. The 345 TAS routinely flew a shuttle into CCK from Kadena AB in support of this deployment. The F-4 deployment had begun on 6 November 1972.The following are the units that the 18th Tactical Fighter Wing once stationed at Ching Chuan Kang Air Base in Taiwan:

21 May 1975: During Operation New Life, the aircraft and personnel of the 374 TAW assisted in evacuating more than 40,000 refugees who fled the Republic of Vietnam prior to a communist victory there.
